My thoughts on
Clean Food
Terry Walters
I love the color scheme
I know that has nothing to do
With quality but it matches my wedding colors
But the basic premise is to eat closer to nature
If you cannot tell what something is made of
You should not partake
One aspect that I really like is that the author has a
What's That section
It breaks down common (or not so) ingredients
And unusual fruits and veggies
She talks about what uses and how they benefit (or don't) the body
The recipes are separated by season which is also cool
It helps you focus on natural seasonal produce
There is a hummus recipe I want to try
I like hummus and when we entertain
I always do a veggie tray of some sort
With usually a salad dressing dip for those
Who don't do naked veggies
But hummus is much more chic
I also want to try some of her salad dressing and spaghetti squash recipes
Some minor disappointments
I assume (wrongfully so) that since she was talking about clean food
There would be plenty of raw recipes
Not so it's primarily cooked
And I guess after reading the more raw purist literature
It just seems contradictory
But hey overall still like the book
