the funk

So life is interesting
I have armpit issues
Or rather my armpits have issues
It's been on and off again since grad school 
Roughly 5 years
I left traditional deodorant last year
I was getting bumps and burning
Shaving was next to impossible 
If wearing deodorant was required within a few days
So I started using Oyin Funk Butter
And it was glorious for 3 weeks to a month than the bumps came back
So I stopped they went away  and started again
And since that point its been randomness
At this moment I have hair, scabs, bumps, blisters, peeling skin, and an intense desire to furiously scratch under my arms. 
I haven't shaved my armpits since maybe November
Horrific I know but what's a girl to do suffer or be hairy
So for the past 2 weeks I haven't worn any deodorant at all
Scandaless I know but what can I do suffer or possibly stink
(It actually wasn't that bad smellwise. Only once was I like um yeah showertime.)
But realizing that I was getting to this point helped me pick up the phone
So I have a doctor's appointment today to end this foolishness

spring break

Hurrah for spring break
Today was a good day 
Worked out and painted my nails 
A little laundry and chilled with the husband

I was feeling good today so I took a picture
And I was thinking my skin is doing well
I have been using Clinique Acne Solutions for awhile now
And it seems like I only get breakouts while on my cycle

Today is a good day
I just feel so peaceful
This is one of those days that no matter what
You know it will all work out
So the husband found water in the basement
Yet and still God is good
He found the water 
It rained hard all day long
Yet and still God is good
I've cute rainboots and an even cuter umbrella
My stylist called to reschedule my hair appointment
Yet and still God is good
I got some laundry and dishes done in the extra hour I had
And I got a banging hair style


God is good anytime all the time every time 
And the things I'm thanking Him for 
Are so minuscule compared to the cross
Today is the day of remembrance of all that Christ suffered on my behalf
Isaiah 53:5
But He was wounded for our transgressions,
      He was bruised for our iniquities;
      The chastisement for our peace was upon Him,
      And by His stripes we are healed. 

that hair thing

So today is a great day
I got my hair done
I went to Nourish Couture Style Suite
The lovely Alecia did my hair

I was so looking forward to it
Me and my hair needed a break from each other
The whole experience was wonderful
We talked about my hair's needs
She met all the requirements on my hair list
1. Really Really understand natural hair
2. Style
3. Excellent shampooer
4. Timely
5. Clean shop
I am sure there is more to my hair requirements
But that's all I have for now
But I am also sure she would meet additional criteria
The shampoo experience was zen like
There was no hassle detangling
And the style is beautiful
The salon is also very hip
The husband liked the do
I will be returning
And if all things work together I will visit with Alecia monthly

So while doing the necessary at target
(grocery shopping)
I indulged in some of the 
I love nail polish 
I saw some Sonia Kashuk 
No idea who she is but I am about to find out
I bought Violetta it's kind of a smokey purple
But there were about 5 other shads that I would like to purchase
The polish is nice because it dries quickly and I got awesome results with one coat
I also plan to purchase Fatigued - an kind of army green and Tutti Fruitti

what goes up must come down and vice versa
today was enormously better than yesterday
that's the thing about some days they aren't too frequent
today I had this great Kashi frozen meal

so good and vegan too

So I am extremely thankful for Spring Break
I usually am but this year it seemed to take forever to get here
(and it still hasn't)
Our break starts Good Friday
I am also getting my hair done 
I am once again trying a new stylist
I have good feelings about her though
I almost got a chance to meet her 
There was a Chicago Natural's Meet up
But I had a church event 
It was interesting thought that at the conference
They had a natural hair workshop
It was nice we made a ph balanced leave in 
And a shea butter mixture
I tried the leave in out so far so good

some days

Some days life seems out of sorts
Some days things can go perfect
... and one tiny seemingly insignificant thing happens
That thing rocks the universe
And perfect flips over to horrific
Some days horrific seems so familiar
... it's normal and commonplace
Some days I feel that I'm slipping 
Down into an abyss of sorts
... annoyances, short comings, and what have you
Some days my bed and teeccino provide solace
Some days my husband's arms and voice soothe
Some days prayer is the only remedy
Thankful some days only happen some days
