22.7.11

small step: devour the WORD daily

Romans 10

v.9-11 if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart you will be saved. For with the heart one believes unto righteousness and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. For the scripture says, "whoever believes on Him will not be put to shame".

The book of Romans speaks a lot about faith. Faith is the essential aspect of a healthy relationship with God. I know plenty of people who confess a knowledge of Christ or state they have a relationship. But the absence of true faith or belief is evident. If you really believe in our heart that Jesus is who He says He is then your life should be radicalized by this knowledge. It seems that we say a lot without at true heart connection. We are dutiful about our speech or pay lip service but there's no real connection. If we all really lived what we say we believe the church would REALLY have authority.

God is faithful to His word. He even gives a guarantee in verse 11. I will not be put to shame for my faith. God has never failed me yet and He never will. we have to REALLY KNOW we have the answer (the tested, tried, and true answer). Once we know then we can fully operate in what God has for us.

v.13 For whoever calls on the name of the Lord will be saved
v.17 Faith comes by hearing and hearing by the word of God

So know what? If you realize there is weak points or lacking faith what should you do? We know faith comes by hearing. So are you going to church regularly? Doe you feel that the sermons are beneficial (encouraging, challenging, etc)? Do Sunday School and Bible Study provide opportunities for growth and participating? Do you read the Bible and pray daily? Do you hear from God?
If you answered not to all, the majority, or even one question, there's room to grow. It's a good idea to evaluate the ministry you are a part of from time to time. There's nothing wrong with going to the same church for years unless you are not growing.
