So I know your like have you even read the Bible?
Yes I read everyday but I have been having trouble
Getting the time to post daily
So this post is really yesterday's inspiration
Acts 9:10-17 ~NKJV
Now there was a certain disciple at Damascus named Ananias; and to him the Lord said in a vision, “Ananias.” And he said, “Here I am, Lord.” So the Lord said to him, “Arise and go to the street called Straight, and inquire at the house of Judas for one called Saul of Tarsus, for behold, he is praying. And in a vision he has seen a man named Ananias coming in and putting his hand on him, so that he might receive his sight.” Then Ananias answered, “Lord, I have heard from many about this man, how much harm he has done to Your saints in Jerusalem. And here he has authority from the chief priests to bind all who call on Your name.” But the Lord said to him, “Go, for he is a chosen vessel of Mine to bear My name before Gentiles, kings, and the children of Israel. For I will show him how many things he must suffer for My name’s sake.” And Ananias went his way and entered the house...
So when looking at this scripture
It made me think of witnessing to friends,
family, coworkers, neighbors, etc
We often feel intimidated to approach those closest to us
Why???
It may be because we think we know what they will say
Maybe because we think the response will be negative
Maybe because we think we aren't the ones to lead them
Maybe because of our doubt in our ability to wield the word
Regardless when the inkling comes to share
How do you respond?
I usually respond but I can be slow
Slow because I am thinking of all the possible outcomes
But Ananias had what we would all agree is a legitimate concern
He had to deliver God's message to the same man responsible for killing people like him and in this instance might have been seeking him directly
Ananias stated his fear but did as God directed
And we all know the story of Saul/Paul
He did exactly what the Lord said
He brought the gospel to new places literally
If Ananias can face the threat of death
Can I not face ridicule, apathy, a cold shoulder?
So when the Lord speaks
Demonstrate your faith
Move exactly and immediately
